REKS also ISO 9001 & 14001 certified

REKS iso certified

Due to COVID-19 a little later than originally planned, but fully in line with our expectations, our recycling plant  is ISO 9001 & 14001 certified!

This was an important objective to achieve. It shows that REKS is deliberately working on environmental care, and that sustainability is of great importance within the organisation.

About REKS

The Joint Venture REKS LLC, a recycling plant aimed at sorting, separating, washing and recycling plastic waste streams from supermarket chains, retailers and distribution centers, among others.

REKS LLC mainly focuses on the recycling of LDPE and LLDPE films. The production line is specially equipped to also process large quantities of stretch film.

By manually separating unprinted transparent LDPE films without labels, stretch films, lightly printed films and heavily printed/coloured films, REKS is able to produce the highest possible qualities of transparent LDPE and LLDPE recycled raw materials from Post Consumer Recycled content (PCR).

REKS processes waste flows from Europe and the Balkan region. The current capacity is 10,000 tons per year with the aim of doubling this by the end of 2020. Previously these waste flows were shipped in huge quantities from Europe to Asia, or were processed into lower quality (less homogeneous) regranulate within Europe. REKS now offers an answer to the increased export problems and the increasing need for high-quality plastic packaging with recycled content with this capacity. The plant meets all the high European requirements for e.g. water management, energy management, occupational health and safety requirements, REACH and processing of residual waste. Processes to make the factory EuCertPlast certified have therefore been set in motion.
