A new law, the Vlarema 7, recently came into force in Flanders (Belgium). Part of this law is that waste bags for 80% must consist of recycled material, of which at least 50% is post-consumer recycled (PCR).
Within KIVO, we are very happy with this new law, as it provides an incentive to use recycled plastic. It also creates more transparency regarding the use of recycled plastic. All this makes the chain in which we operate increasingly sustainable.
To comply with this law, it was important to be audited and obtain a certificate. This has now happened, fully in line with expectations, and we have received from BQA, Belgian Quality Association the 'Certificate of quality management system for recycling - and production companies - QA-cer system 2' received, which has enabled us to ensure the traceability of our recycled raw materials and therefore comply with the Vlarema 7 Act.
Within KIVO, we strive to minimise the ecological footprint, within every step of the production and distribution chain. So this is another step in the right direction.
